Why does my child need to be at school by 7:45 if it doesn't start until 7:55?

Your child is not tardy until after the 8:00 bell. However, we
transition into our day beginning at 7:45. Each child has
something to do when they first come into class. If students
come later than this, they sometimes feel behind when they first
begin the day.

What if my child needs to go home a different way than they usually do?

I will not send your child home a different way unless I receive
a note or a phone call from you. If you forget to send a note in
the morning, please don't wait until the last minute to call the
office and let them know. They get a lot of calls at that time
of day.

What books can I put on my child's book log?

Any books that your child reads to you can count towards the book
log. These include books from your personal collection as well
as those from the school or public library. If you are reading
(or helping) with most of the words, then that book should not be
written on the book log.

How often should my child be taking an AR test?

(This is only for students who have started taking the test -
usually in January.)
Students are responsible for PASSING (80% or higher) at least one
test each week. Once they understand the procedure, they may
take as many as one each day AS LONG AS they are passing them.
