What happens if my child fails a course required for graduation?

Failure of classes required for graduation will have to be
repeated in summer
school. There is a per-credit cost for summer school. Fees
typically range from $75.00 to $100.00 per credit failed.
PARENTS- if your child does not receive 6 core credits either in
regular school or summer school he/she will remain a 9th grader for the
2012-2013 school year.

When should my son/daughter take the ACT for the first time?

Students typically have the most trouble with the math portion of
the ACT.
Math test questions on the ACT include material covered in Pre-
Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, and geometry. Usually only 3 or 4
questions of trigonometry are covered. Students tend to have their highest
score when they complete Alg.1, geometry, and Algebra II. For many this is
their Sophomore year. Students take the test then with no pressure
atttached because they have several more times ( and two more years) to
test.
Remember: Students can take the test as often as allowed and
colleges will take the highest score.
