This will be my 34th year to work for Shawnee Public Schools, and I am
beginning my 19th year as a guidance counselor. (Yes, that IS a long time.)
I want you to know I've really been to school and have the proper
qualifications for the job. I received my undergraduate degree from Oklahoma
Baptist University, my Master of Science degree from the University of
Oklahoma, and my counseling endorsement from the University of Central
Oklahoma. (I enjoyed them all, but I am particularly fond of the
University of Oklahoma.)
I also have some experience with parenting. I have three daughters, and
one boy that I have some experience with ( a former student who became a part
of our family, and I am happy to claim.) One is 30 years old, one is 24
years old, one is 23 years old and one is 16. I am currently paying off
college debt for the second child and trying to figure out how to send the
next one. I understand your pain in thinking about the future and trying to
determine how to send your child to college. I also understand how truly
wonderful and how utterly exasperating teenagers can be.
