My name is Donna Hemphill. I have a Bachelors degree in Family and Consumer
Sciences with a focus on Child Development and a minor in Early Childhood
Education from Northeastern State University. I received my Masters in
Education from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, May 2011. I taught Head
Start for four years and interpreted for deaf students in public school my
entire working career before that. I am so glad to be at St. John, this is my
fourth year. I am married and have two sons, Joshua and Jacob. I enjoy riding
bikes, camping, reading, learning, and listening to Christian music. I like
plants, candles, chocolate and warm evenings in front of the wood stove
during the winter. I collect Coca-Cola souveniers, roosters and sunflowers.
My favorite color is red.
My mission is to put a love for God and learning inside each child. I want
each student to love school and want to attend everyday. I want to hear
children speak to each other respectfully and treat each other kindly. I
want them to care about each other's feelings and help each other as needed.
I want them to remember how I made them feel instead of what I made them do
everyday. My mission is for each child to understand God made them special
and that each person has special talents and gifts like no other.
