Rough Draft due: February 5th

Tri-fold and final copy due: February 25th

Your report will consist of:

Title page—Title, name, and date (font can be bigger on cover page)

Report pages—double space, no bigger font than 12, 5 paragraphs (following the steps in the Language book for research paper page 365.) Introduction paragraph, three sub paragraphs, and a conclusiont paragraphs. Make sure that you save!

Bibliography page—List the sources that you have used, will need at least 4 different sources. (Two of them need to be books.)

Trifold Board--Put pictures of some of the facts, possibly any mouments that are famous to the state, a drawn or printed picture of the state, written information about the state.

Report Subtopics:

The history of the state:

How it became a state? When it became a state? Who were the first immigrants who settled there? Did any major wars happen to change the ownership of the area? What was the capital when it first became a state and whether or not it is still the capital? What were the square miles of state and is it the same now? What were some major industries that this state had and are they the same now?

Fact about the state:

Nickname, bird, song, flower, motto, population, region, abbreviation, rock, flag (then and now), tree, and any others if listed.

Famous people from the state:

Who they are and what are they famous for? (at least four people)
