Tues., Jan. 31 – Introduction to 1984; Part I, chp. 1 discussion

Wed., Feb. 1 – 1984, chp. 1:2-3 due

Thurs., Feb. 2 – 1984, chp. 1:4 due

Fri., Feb. 3 – Vocab. 11 Quiz ; 1984, chp. 1.5 due

Week 2

Mon., Feb. 6 – 1984, Part One due; begin Vocab. 12

Tues., Feb. 7 – 1984, chp. 2.2 due / Revision of 2 consecutive pages of Research Paper + Works Cited for a grade.

Wed., Feb. 8 – 1984, chp. 2.3-2.4 due

Thurs., Feb. 9 – Sophomore Retreat – no class J

Mon., Feb. 20 – Presidents Day (no classes)

Tues., Feb. 21 – Part Three due; Discuss 1984 major themes, symbols, big ideas

Wed., Feb. 22 – Ash Wednesday – Mass Schedule – Begin trace paper on 1984, tracing a major motif or theme through all three major sections of the novel (with primary source documentation of quotations from the text.)

Thurs., Feb. 23 - Drafting trace paper

Fri., Feb. 24 – Draft complete / Typing paper in Computer Lab

Week 5

Mon., Feb. 27 – Typing (cont.)

Tues., Feb. 28 – Typing complete / 1984 Paper due

Wed., Feb. 29 – Begin Comparison-Contrast Essay Study (extra day of Leap Year—Enjoy!); Movie 1984
