I've taught Drama, Photography, and Art as well English in the 18 years since
earning my B. Ed.(Honours) from the University of Toronto. Additional
Qualifications include Drama (Parts I & II), Art (Part I), Librarianship
(Part I)and Specialist English. I have a B.A. (4-year Specialist), an M.A.,
and most of my Ph.D. in English, also from the U of T. While at work on my
doctorate, I taught undergraduate English for six sessions at the U of T, and
two sessions each at Sheridan College and Ryerson.
Right now, I'm in my third year (part-time) at the Ontario College of Art
and Design, hoping to earn an AOCAD diploma in three or four years. I
combine my interests in art, history, philosophy, and literature in a special
ETS English I enjoy teaching.
In addition, I've been enrolled in two important local writing
workshops--The Humber School of Creative Writing, back in its first summer of
operation (1992), and Barbara Turner-Vessalago's "Freefall" Writing
Workshop at the University of Toronto (1993). These experiences have
contributed significantly to my teaching activities in another senior
speciality English I've enjoyed since 1992 -- the Writer's
Craft course.
