I have had the pleasure of teaching and learning from so many wonderful students over the past
twelve years; whether it be a student I have only taught for a month in high school or those that have
endured having me as their homeroom teacher over the course of 4 of their elementary years (boy,
did they ever keep me on my toes with coming up with fresh, new lessons and holiday craft ideas).
The fact that I am still eager about the first day of classes and all the new memories that come
with a new school year, says a lot about the school community at Father Henri Nouwen. My
occupation has truly blessed me with so many creative and inspirational youth that have allowed me
not only to take on the role as their teacher, but to also take on the role as a student, and to learn
from them. I owe everything that I am as an educator and lifelong learner to my former students and
their wonderful, supportive parents.
I look forward to this coming school year and I am positive that I will not be the only one coming
home at night to tell everyone what I learned at school today.
