Why do we have to do homework?
It is part of your development as a student. Also, it is usually given as an
extension of what was taught in class.
What does it mean if I don't hear from the teacher about my child?
Your child is probably progressing well. By grade 7, teachers usually back
off a bit on the phone calls. If problems do exist, contact is made by notes
in the agenda or by telephone. In some cases, e-mails can be sent. As a
parent, you are probably aware of what your child is doing in school.
Periodically, information is sent updating mom or dad about the progress of
the child in the term
Why are my child's marks low?
There isn't an easy answer for this, but based on past experience, low
marks are usually attributed to the students lack of organization. That is,
homework, assignments, or projects are completed but at the last minute.
Therefore, quality of work and answers suffer. Another factor is the lack of
test preparation.
I studied for the test and I still failed. Why?
The question for you is: How did you study? That is, did you simply memorize
facts without making any overall connections to concepts. Did you spend one
night studying or did you break up your studying over the course of 2-3
days? In other words, the student, you, must ensure that you don't study the
night before. Try to see the whole picture of what it is you're studying.
