FALL 2009 NEWSLETTER
FROM THE SCIENCE LAB
I hope you had a great summer and that this newsletter will find you well rested, ready for another exciting and rewarding school year.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your child's Science and/or French teacher. I am thrilled to start my
fifth year of teaching at Swansea Public School. The purpose of this website is to keep parents informed about the topics covered
in Science, work assigned in class, and upcoming tests and presentations. It is my hope that you will find this website
useful and informative.
Remedial sessions are available at the end of every school day. This time is used to provide extra help to students requesting it.
The teacher may also ask students who are falling behind to stay during that time to complete assigned work.
If there is a major concern regarding your child’s effort or academic achievement, I will let you know as soon as possible by writing
a note in your child’s agenda or by sending home a Progress Report, highlighting the points that need immediate attention (e.g., use of
class time, average falling below 60%). If your child fails to promptly return the signed note or the Progress Report, and/or the
issues have not been resolved, I will contact you directly, usually during lunch time. Thank you in advance for your help and support.
It is greatly appreciated.
The most convenient and fastest way to contact me is to write a note in your child's agenda. If I get your message first thing
in the morning, I will do my best to respond the same day. You can also call the school office and leave a detailed message.
I will do my best to return your call the next school day during lunch.
Looking forward to a very successful year!
Best regards,
M. Pigeon M.Sc.
