| Objective:
To assess students understanding of the overall curriculum expectations for
the five strands being reported on.
Expectations for Term 1:
Student demonstrates an understanding of the characteristics and properties
of mechanical mixtures and solutions, using a scientific model. Student is
able to formulate hypothesis, plan procedures, compile quantitative data,
and present results and conclusions of investigations.
Expectations for Term 2:
Student demonstrates an understanding of the characteristics and properties
of heat. Student demonstrates an understanding of the relationship between
effectiveness of structural forms and the forces that act on and within them.
Expectations for Term 3:
Student demonstrates an understanding of the composition of the Earth's
crust, and how changes in the Earth's crust result from both internal and
external processes. Student demonstrates an understanding of the
interactions of plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms in an ecosystem.
