My name is Grace Gonzales (and my students call me Grace or Senora Gonzales).
I grew up in Los Angeles and learned Spanish from my great-grandmother. I
completed my degree in Spanish and my M.A. at SOU. This is my fifth year at
AMS and I look forward to sharing my knowledge of language and culture
with you.
I love to travel and have lived in both Mexico and Norway for extended
periods. (No, they don't speak Spanish in Norway!!)I have three sons, tow of
them attend Western Washignton University and my "baby" is a senior at
Ashland High School. I spend most of my "free" time watching my sons play
soccer and we were all upset when Argentina lost out of the World Cup at an
early stage but were happy that Spain took first place!!
Tambien tengo dos perros y una gata. Mis perros se llaman Ruby y
Django, y mi gata se llama "Licorice". Mi gata tiende 18 anos.
I look forward to a wonderful year with you!
My goal for this year is to build a strong foundation in the fundamentals of
Spanish so that as students enter high school they will have more confidence
in their language courses. I try to make Spanish a fun and active class,
while teaching basics in grammar, pronunciation, geography and cultural
aspects of Spanish speaking countries.
