Book Review 1

Book Commercial Assignment
 
Choose a book that interest and challenges you. Then write a book commercial using the following guidelines.
 
1. Use an interesting introduction to hook your audience.
2. Tell the title and author of the book.
3. Complete the following lines and make up some of your own.
I like this book because ...
This book reminds me of ...
Read to find out ...
You would like this book because ...
My favorite part was when ...
 I had a test to self connection with ...
4. Chooses a well written sentence or paragraph from the book and explain why it is good writing.
5. Tell where to find the book and the genre it is - fiction, nonfiction, chapter, fantasy etc. 
6. Repeat the book and author and come up with an interesting closing.
 
Directions
 
Step 1: Write out your book commercial on paper.
Step 2: Practice your book commercials many, many, many times by yourself.
Step 3: Get three not cards and write down a few key words of your speech.
Step 4: Practice for a family member or friend. Ask for critiques.
Step 5: Edit it and make it better.
 
Note- Your speech should be between two to three minutes long.

Poster for Your Book Commercial 

You need to create a poster to go along with your book commercial.  Below is the format we want you to follow.  You will be graded on neatness, creativity, content, spelling and grammar.  The poster is due the day of your commercial.
 
Top of you poster: Put a quote form the book that is exciting
 
Next: Put the Title and Author
 
Middle: An illustration from the book
 
Bottom: Persuasive writing to convince your audience they should read the book.
