Sing to me muse, of the family with up hill battles

 

Of the girls who travel into the air, being weightless

 

The boys who expose bruises, being sore to the touch

 

Coming together, never breaking apart

 

With their coaches by their side

 

 

Learning how to hit everything to feel the sting

 

Pulling the lips back to expose the whiteness of their pearls

 

With the dedication to make their coaches proud

 

To prove to the world that they were more than what meets the eye

 

But not by being tight fisted, but rather showing the desire of gold

 

For the daily sweat set them apart

 

Brothers and sisters, backs, bases, and flyers

 

To be eye opening to each other

 

And the ones who never give up, never give in

 

You saw it in their eyes that they all had the passion the same

 

Of the days in the upper loft, the weekends away

 

The strength to stay together and keep each other close
