Math and English Language Arts--released the Implementation guides for the
Common Core State Standards on June 1. This encompasses all levels, PK - 12.
Efforts to provide implementation strategies are under way.
Assessment--Updated report cards at all levels have been released this past
summer. A student portfolio will replace the Writing Portfolio beginning in
September. This will encompass all content areas.
Music--An updated curriculum for classroom music was published during the
2007-2008 school year. Plans are under way for this year's band festivals and
concerts. A new choral group for grades 7 and 8 will be formed this year.
Library--The Library Committee published a list of recommended titles for each
grade level last year.
Math--Registration for the Acuity Online assessment program should be
completed before September 30. Participation in this program is open to all
students. It is not limited to Honors Math Students, but is required for
Honors Math Students at the Algebra Level. This program should be used
throughout the year--not just at the time of the end-of-level assessment.

Technology--Information is sent out regularly to schools from Joe Koenecki,
Director of Technology
Social Studies--"Faith and Freedom" booklets and study guides have been sent
to all schools from the Providence Forum in collaboration with the Office for
Ecumenical Affairs. These are intended to be used in Grades 4 and 7.
Art--Each school has been provided with a set of art prints, "Picturing
America." There are lesson plans for these on the web site for the National
Endowment for the Humanities.
To promote regular planning using the Understanding by Design Framework and
the Rigor and Relevance model of instruction.
To provide multiple opportunities for staff development in all curriculum areas.
