What is Speak Up?

Conversations (3) initiated by students with other students, parents, 
teachers and other adults with the help of a professional facilitator.

When is the next Speak Up?

December 1st. Registration forms will be available in the main office and 
sent home with students. Pre-registration will be at 6:30PM and the program
will begin promptly at 7:00PM.

What are the topics?

1. Gangs and violence
2. Resiliency
3. Abstinence
The topics were chosen by the Speak Up! student committee, not the teachers
or administrators.

Are parents and children in the same group?

No. It is preferred that students and their parents attend separate 
conversations and meet back up at the end of the evening to share with each
other what was said in their groups.

What is the Alliance?

The Alliance is for GLBTQQ youth and their straight friends to come together 
in a safe non judgmental location. Meetings may be weekly or sporadic based
on the needs of the student population.

Who can attend the meetings?

Anyone who rejects discrimination and respects others.
