Mrs. Riehl’s
Weekly Newsletter
Week of February 13th– February 17th
Reading – This week’s story is titled “Rooster’s Off to See the World”. The
letter of the week is letter Hh. Our amazing words are world, lonely, trip,
horizon, journey, and homesick. The question of the week is “What can we
learn from our adventures?” Our high frequency words are “are”, “that”,
and “do”.
Math – We will finish Topic 4 this week with number lines and problem
solving. We will review on Thursday, and take the Topic 4 test on Friday.
Classroom News and Events –
Don’t forget to wear sneakers for gym on Mondays, and to return all library
books on Fridays. Let’s try for our second perfect book return!
Please continue practicing high frequency words each night.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Please remember no candy or food with Valentine’s
cards. Your child only has to sign his/her name on the card. Leave the
envelope blank. It is much easier for them to pass their cards out this way.
There are 21 students in the class. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the last day to
send them in.
Test folders will be coming home this week. Please look over tests, with your
child, and return tests in signed envelope.
If you have not returned your child’s report card envelope, please do so ASAP.
