Dear Parents,

Moving into May!

Wow.  It is hard to believe we are saying good-bye to April and heading into the final seven weeks of our year together.  We have accomplished so much and we have great plans for the weeks ahead.  It was fun hosting our special visitors and those of you who were here know how great our kids were!

This week we are beginning a research report on Jackie Robinson.  We are excited to find out how this man changed American society.  We will read several books, learn to take and organize notes using a big idea, write and revise a draft, and type a final essay.  We will soon begin a new unit in science about rot and recycling.  In social studies we will study the reform movements of the mid and late 1800s  --  Abolition, suffrage, education, labor.
