Last year our piloted expansion of our extracurricular activities and clubs proved very successful; therefore, for the 2011-12, school year we will again offer an assortment of after school ‘CLUBS’ that provide a mixture of enrichment, academic, social and physical activities for a range of grade level student populations.
Just as in the past, Reading Olympic, Safeties Program, Student Government and UE Instrumentals (to begin in January) will be initiated through the school. In addition to these school programs, we will continue to offer the Yoga, Photography and Sign Language Clubs, while also introducing a new club – Country Line Dancing. All mentioned ‘CLUB’ programs will be organized by BCMSC staff members. Note that these ‘CLUBS’ will be on a ‘first come [response] first serve basis,’ and may also be limited to certain grades and/or levels. Be sure to look for updated notices under the below links or that are sent home in your child’s backpacks.
In conjunction with the school related activity programs, students can also get involved in parent organized ‘Competition Groups’ which similarly are conducted at the school during after school hours. "Odyssey of Mind" will once again be offered by Mr. Trotto, and "Geo-bee" [which is a rendition of a spelling bee but geography based] will be offered by Mrs. Polo.
