Quizzes and Tests

  • Quizzes and tests will be given throughout the school year
  • You will be notified about a quiz or a test that is coming up
  • If caught cheating your test will be taken away, which will result in a zero for your grade.

  • Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
  • Bring all books and materials to class
  • Eyes front when the teacher is talking and be respectful

Rewards

  • If students are following the rules during class, they will receive a ticket, which will be put in a homework pass container.  This container will contain tickets that will accumulate within the week and students’ names will be drawn to receive a homework pass to be used in place of homework.  The students will need to do the following to receive a ticket:
  • Staying on task
  • Sitting in your seat
  • Completed assigned homework that was assigned previously
  • Participated in class discussions
  • Was respectful towards the instructor

Homework Policy

  • Students should complete homework that is assigned, and if the homework is not completed in time, the result will be a 1pt. deduction for every day that the homework is late. If a student wishes to use a homework pass in place of the homework, they may use their pass.  The student must put their name on the pass and what it is taking in place of Ex. pg. 13 questions for Ch 1.  You may receive three passes within a grading period.
  • Homework will be assigned approximately 2-3 times a week
  • I will be making a phone call home if not turning in your homework is an issue.

Lab Experiments

  • Labs will be conducted once a week
  • The experiments will take place on Wednesdays
  • Remember Science is hands on and is fun; I would like to do more hands on activities throughout the year!
  • If students are not mature enough to complete and participate during the experiments the result will be less time in the lab and more bookwork.  You need to show me that you are 7th graders! Also, that you are responsible enough to participate and complete a lab.  If you’re not responsible, your lab privileges will be taken away!
