Value: Chalk Pastel Pumpkins

2nd grade added another art word to their repertoire: value! Value, in art is the lightness or darkness of something. Students gave their pumpkins value by coloring them dark to light using chalk pastels and blending. They added vines and stems after their pumpkins were blended.

Leaf Mobiles

Students learned about warm and cool colors, and observed the changing of the leaves outside. They experimented blending with the oil pastels on their stenciled leaves. After adding veins to their leaves, students created a fall mobile with them.
