Classroom Policies
Requirements:
Materials: 3 ring binder, pen/pencil, and highlighter
Attendance: Regular attendance is necessary for each student to reach their
fullest potential. Students are required to come to class on time and
prepared to participate and learn.
Conduct: Students are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate, adult-
like manner. All classroom and district rules and expected to be adhered to.
Homework: All homework assignments must be completed and in class by the due
date
Tutorials: Flex tutorial is offered daily in room 29.
Late-to-Class: All students are required to be on time for class. This means
before the second bell stops ringing). If the student is late for class they
will not receive attendance daily point. An accumulation of 3 lates will
result in a disciplinary referral.
Absence: It is the responsibility of the student to obtain all work or notes
given in class. Any assignments due on the date of student absence are to be
submitted the day of their return for credit.
Evaluations: Students will be graded using a point system. The points earned
will be divided by the number of possible points available. A variety of
methods will be utilized do assess student comprehension and understanding.
These assessments include quizzes, tests, notebook checks, and projects.
Additionally, 5 points can be earned daily for attendance, conduct/attitude,
class work, preparation, and homework.
Daily Grading Rubric:
1. Attendance - 1 point daily
a. Attendance in class
b. Being in the classroom before the second bell stops ringing
2. Conduct/Attitude - 1 point daily
a. Treating the class and its members with respect
b. Behaving in an adult-like manner following classroom rules and the
Code of Student Conduct published in the student handbook)
3. Class Work - 1 point daily
a. Utilizing class time wisely to complete work
b. Participating in class discussions
4. Preparation - 1 point daily
a. Coming to class daily with all materials-this includes a pen/pencil
5. Homework - 1 point daily
a. Completing assigned homework completely and accurately
b. Submitting homework for grading on time
