Background of the Student Leadership in Civics Club:
Student Leadership In Civics of Dallas High School was formed in September 2009 after our students had the opportunity to attend a leadership workshop with then First Lady of Pennsylvania, Judge Rendell. At this workshop we were challenged to go out and make a difference in civic education, to that end, this group of inspiring young adults decided it was time for us to act. They created the club and established its mission which is to educate the local school and community through service learning projects. Each year our club amasses over 2,000 hours of community service making them recipients of the President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award.
