On Thursday, we will be having a Healthy Banquet to wrap up our Health unit on food and exercise. Thank you for donating food and/or time to this culminating activity. So each child is expected to read for at least 15 minutes at home each day. There is a calendar in the agenda book that can be initialed each day your child reads at least 15 minutes at home. It is on page 8. Our selection for this week, "The Armadillo from Amarillo" is Informational Narrative. The focus skill is Cause and Effect and the focus strategy is Reread to Clarify. Our Grammar skill this week is Comparing with Adverbs. If your child scored a C, D, or F on last week's reading test, s/he is to reread this week's story every night and discuss it with a parent. Our spelling tests are usually on Thursday each week. There are no more Spelling tests this year!Spelling lists: Tuesday LH 166 Wednesday workshet 88 Thursday - Reread "Armadillo" Friday Math Study multiplication facts for 10 minutes every day. Flash the cards to your child until s/he misses 3. Those 3 should then be studied for 10 minutes. If this is done everyday, your child will learn his/her facts quickly. We are venturing into fractions and measurement with Chapter 9.
