Mr. Emerson graduated from Bradford Area High School in 1986. Upon
graduation he then attended the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and
Edinboro University, where he graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Criminal Justice. Mr. Emerson completed his graduate studies in
counseling psychology at St. Bonaventure University in 1997. Prior to
joining the faculty of Fretz Middle School, Mr. Emerson served as a Counselor
and the Director of Alternative Education for Beacon Light Behavioral Health
Systems.
Mr. Emerson resides in Bradford with his wife, Aimee and daughters Sydney
and Madeline.
The goal of the Guidance Program is to bring Guidance information and
topics to all students at Fretz Middle School. Bi-weekly classroom guidance
sessions will resume for seventh grade students during the 2007-2008 school
year. Mr. Emerson provides classroom instruction on topics such as:
bullying, anger management, healthy peer relations, diversity, peer pressure
and test taking skills. The Guidance Program will also coordinate schoolwide
informational assemblies on various academic, personal safety, and personal
growth topics.
Mr. Emerson is also available to assist students, parents and faculty on
an as needed basis with issues relating to personal,social,academic, and
career development.
