2009-10 Competition information

Fretz Middle School will host the IU9 book competition.

Book Lists are available from the Fretz Librarian or from the Appalachia IU8 website. The cycle 1 lists will be used for the 2009-10 school year.

The date for the Fall 2009 competition is Thursday, November 12, 2009

Schools planning to participate need to have their registration information to the Fretz Library no later than Friday, November 6, 2009.

Registration fee is $35 for up to 10 teams from any one school for each competition. The registration for both competitions is $60, a savings of $10 if paid in the fall.  The registration fee can be paid the night of the competition.

The spring 2010 Competiton will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010 with all registration fees and teams sent to me no later than Friday, March 19, 2010

Schools can compete on three levels : Elementary - grades 1-5, Middle school Grades 6-8 or High School grades 9-12.

The registration fee has increased to $35 per school which covers all teams from that school up to ten teams per competition ($60 if you plan on participating in both the fall and the spring competitions and the registrations are made in the fall.)

Make Checks payable to Fretz Middle School. Schools within the Bradford District can request a transfer of funds from their account to the Memorial Fund account for Fretz Middle School.

To guarentee that I have enough readers for the nights of the competition I request that for each two teams coming from your school, one person will come as a designated reader whom I can use.

Entry Deadline for Fall 2009 is November 6 and for the spring 2010 competition the deadline is March 19, 2010.

Keep in Mind - for every two teams that come from your school, you will need to have at least one person designated to read questions during the competition.
