Meet The Educators

Sandy Caprarotta, Pre-K teacher           Shawna Rimer, Pre-K Instructional Aide

We believe that school is not just a preparation for life but is a real life experience.  Creating an environment that provokes young children to make connections with the world around them is our greatest challenge.

Program Goals

Notable among the may features of the Pre-K program include:

A deep respect for the potential of all children.

Communication and collaboration among all participants within the
   learning community.

Voices of children and educators made visible through
documentation of children's work(reflections, portfolios, documentation
    panels).

Relationships considered as essential for language learning and for
the positive development of "habits of the mind".

Children and teachers constructing knowledge together through
   exploration and problem solving.

An environment rich with materials designed to support the many
   possibilities for learning.

Emergent curriculum and small group work based on the negotiation
based on the negotiation between children and educators.

Children's literature and storytelling as the cornerstone for the
development of creativity and early literacy skills.
