Class Requirements

Rules/Expectations

 Absences:
If you are absent, you must use 7th period to make up your missed
work. Class time will not be used to re-teach a lesson.

If you are absent on the day of a test review and return the day of
the test, you have the option to take the test or make it up. If you
choose to make up the test or are absent the day a test is given, you
must make it up within 4 days of returning to class. If you fail to
make up a test within 4 days, you will receive a zero. It is your
responsibility to set up a time to take the test during 7th period.

If you are coming to class late you must have a pass. You will not
be allowed to leave class to go and get a pass no matter who you were
with. You must come with a written pass. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Testing:

Tests must be taken on the day they are given, unless you were
absent on the previous day. You will NOT be exempted from any test if
you missed material, but have since returned to school. If you were
absent Monday and the test is Thursday you will be taking the test.

There will be no extra time given on tests. You must finish during
class time. The only exception to this is if we have made other
arrangements before the day of the test. This must be cleared by me
first.

Make Up Test Policy: If you are absent on the day of a test, your
name will be written on the board along with a date by which the test
must be made up. When you return, it is your responsibility to come to the
board and write the date you will come to make up the test. If it is not
made up by the due date, the grade becomes a zero.

Homework:
Homework will be assigned almost every night and may or may not be
checked the next day. Every homework assignment that is missed will be
counted as 1 point off your preparation grade. After five missed assignments
a letter will be sent home informing your parents of the missed work.

Rules:
	1. Be in your assigned seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
	2. Bring all needed materials to class.
	3. Listen when someone is speaking.
	4. Follow directions the first time they are given.
        5. Have assignments completed on time.
        6. Treat everyone and their property respectfully.
	7. Do your best work and never give up!

Grades:
Your grades for this class will be calculated using the following:
Point System: Each test, quiz, assignment, etc. will be
worth a given number of points. The sum of all these points will
represent a grade of 100. To calculate your average during the
marking period, you will add up the points you have received in each
category and divide that number by the total number of points (sum of
        all points).

Participation is a separate grade. It will be factored into your
average at the end of the marking period. It will count as
approximately 10% of your grade. Participation includes being
prepared for class (book, pencil, homework, etc.) as well as
        volunteering during class.

I reserve the right to give pop quizzes at any time. Be prepared for
class. If you are absent from school, call a friend to find out what
happened in class that day and what the assignment was. If you are
unable to call or do not have your book home, ask as soon as you get
to school the next day. Try to be prepared as much as possible in
        this situation.

If you want to know a past test or quiz grade, or your grade prior
to the end of the quarter, you must come during seventh period. No
        exceptions.

At the end of each quarter we will calculate your final average. It
is your responsibility to keep track of your quiz and test grades in
order to ensure the grade you are receiving for the quarter is
        correct.

Remember:
No saying, “I can’t do this.”
All tests are to be completed in pencil.
	Be on time.
Always ask for help when you need it.

ABSOLUTELY NO TOLERANCE FOR:
Food or drinks in the classroom. Keep them in your locker.
Friends coming to the door. You will not be able to leave to speak
          with them.
	Language
Absence of a written pass when late.
