Welcome back! Looking forward to meeting you and your child. Our Title
1 Reading classes run from September through June and focuses on basic
reading skills in Kindergarten and First grade. We will be starting the
DIBELS testing in September. We utilize this test as a screening
device. The areas in which all Kindergarten & First Grade students will be
assessed are letter recognition and letter sounds, and first grade only,
oral reading. After the scores are compiled, we will send out Parent
Permission letters for you to sign, agreeing to allow us to service your
child in Title 1 Reading. This will occur at the end of September.
Title 1 classes will begin sometime after the DIBELS testing is
completed.
We will be working with your child 5x a week, 35-40 minutes per class
in Kindergarten, learning letters and sounds. In First grade, we
will be reviewing letters and sounds,then beginning our Early Success
Intervention Program , 4x per week,30 -40 minute class periods.
