Science - Be sure to bring in your white t-shirt!!!!
Dear parents and students,
Due to the fact that many of our students are on different levels in Math concerning multiplication and division, we will only be having basic quizzes from now until the end of the school. This will allow all students to better develop their individual skills. We are working on advanced multiplication (2 or more multiplers) and long division. Many students will not have the same assignments on a daily basis. Please be sure to check planners to ensure your child does/oes not have assignments. On of the adults will be ensuring specific assignments are written in each planner.
Also, we are continuing to work on our states in Social Studies. Everything on each individual state is explained in detail, and students have been taught how to look for specific information, whether it be found on their handouts or online.
As for Science, we are continuing to work on our FOSS kits. Due to the cummulative grading, if anyone is having difficulty completing assignments, I will contact you directly. So far, all of the students have been enjoying the activities. Unfortunately, if anyone is absent on a day of an investigation, it is difficult for them to understand the full effect of the experiment since we will only be working on it for one day. I try to get them to have a full understanding, but it is not the same as if they were present on that day of school.
Finally, on May 23rd, we will be having a presentation for our Science class. Mr. Robert Hughes, from EPCAMR, will be doing a presentation on mine reclamaion and iron oxide pollution with our class. The students will be making their own tye-dyed t-shirts, however, they are required to bring in a white shirt of their own. This shirt cannot be brand new, it must have been washed at least once. Students will also be able to dress down that day due to the facts that they may get their clothes dirty.
Please email me with any other questions!
Thank You!!!!
** Be sure to practice all of your multiples (first 10 for each digit)!!
