How much are the annual dues?

Dues for the GNA PTA are $5.00 per year.  Of this amount the GNA 
Elementary 
PTA keeps $1.50 and submits $3.50 to the Pennsylvania State and 
National PTA.

How long is my membership valid for?

Membership expires annually on October 31 of each year.  It is 
best to renew 
your membership annually when school starts.  This way you are 
sure to be 
able to vote, and attend school functions.

How do I become a member?

Every year at the start of school a membership form is sent home 
with all 
students.  If you did not receive it you may simply write your 
name, 
child/childrens name(s) and Homeroom Teacher(s) name, your 
address and 
telephone number on a piece of paper.  Enclose $5.00 dues.  Put 
it in an 
envelope marked PTA Membership and send it to school with your 
child.  
Membership tables will be set up at Parent's Night and at every 
PTA meeting. 
Membership  can be done at any time of the year it does not close.

What should I do if I don't receive my membership card?

If you do not receive your membership card within 1 week after 
remitting your 
application, please call Karen Stecco at 735-4832.

What does membership entitle me to?

1.  Your membership allows you to vote at PTA meetings
2.  Your membership gives you the privlege of entering the school 
to help 
with various parties and events or to be a homeroom helper at KM 
Smith.
3.  You must be a member to chaperone a field trip.
4. A say in your child's educational experiences.

Who can be a field trip chaperone?

Only PTA members can be chaperones. Anyone who is a member may be 
selected to 
go on a field trip. Field trips are not just limited to parents 
or 
guardians.  We have a number of active grandparents.  All 
chaperones must 
have child abuse and criminal history clearance papers on file 
with the 
Principles.  They will keep the President updated. Deadline for 
submitting 
clearances for 2009-2010 trips is January 31, 2010.

Is there a membership contest?

Yes.  This year the student who brings in the most members will 
receive a $25 GIFT CARD, 2ND PLACE- $15 AND 3RD PLACE $10
