Here are some updates for the beginning of the 2010-11 school year.

|
The collections in each of the three libraries have been improved and increased; nearly 1500 new books have been purchased for the libraries. The three libraries combined contain nearly 20,000 books. |

|
Students in Grades Four, FIve, Six, and Seven will utilize Web 2.0 applications like blogs and wikis. Students in Grades One, Four, Five, Six, and Seven will read at least one and perhaps two novels each. |

All libraries are now fully automated using Follett Destiny Library Manager. Students now have access to an electronic library catalog that is hosted on the district's intranet. The electronic catalog includes pictures of book covers, book exerpts, book reviews, complete bibliographic information, and book availability. |

|
The Accelerated Reader program will be emphasized. The program will reward students and classes for their performance on Accelerated Reader quizzes, which are based on books that students will read in and out of school. Along with this program, the STAR Reading Program will be utilized five times per year in order to set and monitor individual student reading levels. |
