Welcome back to a new school year!
We will be working on unit 1 in vocab. Test will be Friday, Sept. 18.
In literature we have begun our study of poetry. Test on "The Secret Heart"
will be on Thursday, Sept. 24.
Vocab Test Unit 2 on Friday, Oct. 2.
Students have the words for UNIT 3 in vocab. The test is on Friday, Oct. 16,
2009.
We are studying narrative poetry,"The Wreck of the Hesperus" and "The
Centaur". Students are to answer the questions on page 829 #1,2, 5,6,7.
Number 7 has to be researched to find the answer. These must be completed
for Tuesday, Oct. 13 when we return from the break.
REMINDER Study for Unit 3 Vocab Test on Friday, Oct. 16.
Week of Oct. 13 we will be working on the integrated language skills on page
830 and completing work/study sheets that go with them.
Worksheet 220 complete for Thursday, Oct.22.
Unit 4 vocab test is on Thursday, Oct. 29. We will review on Wednesday, Oct.
28.
Week of Oct. 26 We have started the study of Lyric Poetry. Read "Harlem
Night Song" by Langston Hughes on page 835 and answer the questions at the
bottom of the page.
STUDENTS SHOULD BE BRINGING HOME THEIR NOTEBOOKS WITH THEIR VOCAB
WORDS EVERY DAY TO STUDY ! ! ! ! There is a test every other Friday. Don't
wait to study the night before the test.
Next vocab test on Unit 5 is Friday, Nov. 13, 2009.
In literature we are still studying lyric poetry. We have read "Harlem Night
Song" on page 835 and answered the questions after it. We have also
read "Blow Blow Thou Winter Wind" on page 836 and 837 and answered the
questions after it.
Test on lyric poetry is on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
