Homework counts as a test grade at the end of each quarter! It is very important that students complete their homework nightly!
Students are expected to read for 30 minutes per week during their own time and complete the reading log that will be placed in their planners at the beginning of each week. Students may read silently or aloud to a sibling, parent, friend, etc. .
Logs will be collected each Monday and replaced with a blank log. This counts as a homework assignment. Students may read anything they choose.
Examples of what to read: newspaper, magazine, pamphlet, internet article, book that you are interested in , instructions for a game or activity, comic book, text book for any subject (recommended), etc. .
If students have difficulty finding something to read, text books are always available to take home from school. The Mill Memorial Library is also free of charge and has a wide selection of books to borrow!
