How can I find out if my child is eligible for special services? (Gifted, Special Education, etc)

eligible for and the process of determination

My child is having having difficulty in school (academically, behaviorally, socially, etc). What should I do?

Discuss your concerns with your child's homeroom teacher.  If you 
still have concerns, contact me so we can set up a plan to help
your child be successful here at GNA.

How do I get my child involved in Child Study Team?

Please contact your child's homeroom teacher with your concerns 
to try to address the issues. If you do not feel the issue has
been resolved, the parent, teacher, or other staff can contact me
to begin the Child Study Team process.

How does my child get a peer tutor in the mornings?

Contact either myself or the classroom teacher so we can assign a 
peer tutor and assign a schedule for your child.

I have concerns about my child's emotional and/or social well-being and would like to go to a psychologist/psychiatrist/agency that can help. Is there a list of agencies that offer counseling and other services?

I do have a list of area agencies and counseling, which is organized
according to the services provided and insurance accepted.
You can also call the 1800 number on the back of your insurance
card for a list of providers in the area. I can also provide a
referral if you would like. Please call or email me for a list
or referral.
