Welcome Students and Parents,
I am Mr. Prushinski and I am your General Science teacher. I am very
excited about teaching this class, because, it will introduce topics that we
all see everyday but may not completely understand. This class will
hopefully allow you to have an understanding of many of the features of the
sky and world around you.
I run my class on a total points system meaning the grades are not weighted,
they are just worth a given number of points that will go towards a total at
the end of the quarter.
In addition to tests and quizzes there will be a different project each
quarter which will be worth 100 pts (the same as a test). Classwork and
participation are also valued in my class. If you are a disruptive
influence, come late and/or unprepared to class or do not complete classwork
your average will be affected accordingly.
This class will act as an introduction to astronomy, meteorlogy, geology
and related topics. It will also serve as an introduction to higher level
scientific thinkng.
I am always available to give extra instruction to students during 7th
period, please feel free to stop by Room 215 if you have any questions.
I look forward to teaching this class and all of you this year.
Mr. Prushinski
