Student Success Plan(SPS)
Dear Parents,

In an effort to maximize learning and cultivate a respectful
environment in the classroom, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will implement
a
discipline plan called the Student Plan for Success (SPS). Each
child will
have a copy of the plan in their Friday folder.

There are six basic rules listed on the SPS which each student is
expected
to follow. Each week, if a student breaks a rule, the homeroom
teacher OR
specials teacher will put a CHECK mark in the appropriate column.
Check
marks for missed homework assignments will be given right away;
however,
check marks for discipline-related issues will only be given after
the
student has received several warnings. Please keep in mind that any
missed
homework assignment will be made up at recess regardless. Once the
assignment is completed, the student can join his/her class outside.

Two checks in one week will result in the loss of recess. Three
checks will
result in a phone conference between parent and teacher.

Every good discipline plan has rewards which motivate the students
to always
do their best. All of the students who make it through the whole
week
without checks (a very attainable goal for these bright and
motivated
children!) will receive a reward at the end of the week. Each
teachers
rewards will vary, and could include fun prizes, candy, free time on
Fridays, homework passes, etc.

We ask that you check the SPS at the end of each week when Friday
folders
come home, discuss any problems with your child, and return the
sheet with
your signature. Please feel free to contact us about any problems
or issues
that may arise during the students adjustment period to this
discipline
plan.

Thank you for your help and support!

Sincerely,

Miss OConnor
Mrs. Duszak
Mrs. Flanagan
