Good Buddies - Symbiosis Science Research Project
Symbiosis is a long-term relationship between different species
Grading: Due Dates:
Part 1 + 2 = 1 Test Grade Part 1: Friday, March 2nd
Part 3 = 1 Quiz Grade Part 2 & Part 3: Friday, March 9th
You may hand in any part before its due date.
There is time provided in class during both weeks to work on all parts of your project.
Your project is: Two typed papers: Part 1, Part 2. A poster: Part 3.
Part 1: Write a One Page Research Essay describing your Symbiotic Relationship.
Your essay must answer the following questions:
1. In what biome does this relationship occur?
2. What different species are involved?
3. Is their symbiotic relationship an example of Commensalism, Mutualism, or Parasitism?
4. Which species benefit from this relationship?
Part 2: Create a 1st Person point of view story in which you personify your species. Tell a story about how the two of you get along. Do you like each other very much, or not at all? Your story must include an example of your symbiotic relationship in action.
· 1st Person point of view means you will choose one of your organisms and write the story as if you were them.
· To personify means that your two organisms can talk!
Both parts may exceed one page in length if necessary. Parts 1 & 2 of your Research Project must have a Proper Heading, be double spaced and your font must be Times New Roman and size 14.
Part 3: Create a poster. Your poster will illustrate the symbiotic relationship in its proper biome.
It must be fully colored in using marker. Your poster must provide the following information:
ü The title of your poster is the biome that your species are found.
