Homework Policy

Homework should be expected Monday through Thursday. Homework may be given
on the weekends, if we are covering a difficult subject which may need the
extra review. The weekends may also be needed to work on extended projects
or reports. If there is a long weekend, homework may also be assigned to
keep the information fresh in the minds of the students.

Each student is responsible for writing down homework in their assignment
book daily. Parents should check and sign the books each night. It is the
responsibility of each student to make sure a parent has signed the book
before coming to school.

Late homework will be accepted, but only partial credit will be given.
Students will make up late homework assignments at recess. If the
assignment takes longer than recess to complete, the student may turn it in
within that same week.

Students in the Middle Division are not permitted to call home if an
assignment was forgotten. It is one of our goals and objectives that the
students develop responsibility and accountability.

It is extremely important that homework be completed. It will be graded
randomly. Homework is also an invaluable tool in which parents can
communicate with the teacher that a concept or subject needs more
explanation. I encourage all parents to keep me informed of the
understanding level which they see at home!

Friday Folders should be reviewed over the weekend, signed, and returned on
Monday. The students have until Tuesday to return the folders without it
counting as a missed assignment.
