DIRECTIONS TO ACCESS EBSCOhost
EBSCOHOST is a full text online database. This means it is a place where
you can search for magazine and newspaper articles. Many articles can be
found in the complete text as they were printed in the magazine.
Go to www.buckslib.org
Click on ONLINE RESOURCES
Click on the link for POWER LIBRARY
Now enter your library card barcode number and PIN.
Under General Reference select EBSCOHOST
Now click on the link for EBSCOhost Web Interface.
Now you should be on a page that lists the databases you can search. You
can click on and do the search in more than one database. MasterFILE
Premier and Middle Search Plus are two good databases to use. Once you
select the database to search click continue.
Now you have a page with a box where you can type your search terms. Mid-
way down the page find the words Full Text. Click on the box next to that
and your search results will be all full text articles. You will get a list
of articles that meet your search terms. Click on the article title to read
the article. Click on the back button to go back to the list.
Please note that the bibliography for this is for an online database, which
is different from an Internet, or magazine citation.
The format for this citation is
Author last name, author first name. “name of article.” Name of magazine or
newspaper. Date of original article: EBSCOhost. (date of access in the form
30 Sept. 2004).
Example: any line after the rist is indented.
