Wow! How quickly the month of October went by.  It was great meeting with parents for conferences.  We are lucky to be in such a wonderful partnership with you as we work to nurture and help the children as they grow.

We are busy practicing and learning our letters and numbers.  We are mastering patterns and are coming up with some detailed formations.  We are using the smartboard to form our numerals and learning poems that go with each one. 

Our Religion lessons focus on God's love for each of us and how we are special in His eyes.  We learned the story about Jesus and the little children and we will learn the story of Jesus as the Good Shepherd.

In the month of November we will be learning about the first Thanksgiving.  The Pilgrims and Native Americans shared a meal the lasted 3 days.  The meal was in thanksgiving for a wonderful harvest and a new land.  We will be planting corn and watching it grow just like our Pilgrim friends.  The students will make a list of 100 things we are thankful for.  Each child will receive a thankful bag that will be filled with 5 things they are thankful for.  It will be fun to share our bags  each morning.  

Our science lessons are focusing on our senses in the month of November.  There are many fun experiments planned for each sense.

The annual school wide Thanksgiving Food Drive will take place this month.  Letters will go home to inform you about our collection process.  We are always amazed at the generosity of our families.  Anything you can give is deeply appreciated.
