We started our last day before Thanksgiving making Pilgrim puppets.  We colored and then made houses for them to live in.  We were invited to see the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Program.  They sang and told the story of the First Thanksgiving.  It was fun to see what next year will bring.  We had Gym with Mr. Wilker and then popped fresh popcorn just like they did in the old days.  Our Thanksgiving Religion lesson teaches us to share and think of others on this special day.   Have a wonderful holiday.

We are counting the days until Thanksgiving.  We are singing songs and telling the story of that first feast.  Our corn is several inches high.  It will go home tomorrow.  Anyone feeling they have a green thumb can plant it in soil and watch it grow through the winter.  We enjoyed sharing our Thankful bags.  The students did a great job expressing the things they are thankful for.  Every bag was unique and special.  Our religion lesson centered around being kind to others.  We practiced giving putups to each other.  A putup is the opposite of a putdown.  It is words of kindness expressed to another person.  We can practice putups in school, at home, or anywhere.

The new mystery letter arrived yesterday.  The letter Ll is loaded and ready to teach us many words that begin with that sound.  We made little Lls and large Lls this morning.  We are working on our sense of hearing and played a game of listening to different sounds that we hear everyday.  It was fun. Our corn has sprouted and has begun showing roots.  Our Pilgrim friends would be proud of our green thumbs.  Tomorrow is the last day for our Thanksgiving collection.  The Pre-K class did a great job donating baby formula. Thankyou!

Today we learned how the Native Americans taught the Pilgrims to plant corn.  We planted popcorn seeds and will watch how they grow.  Our Religion lesson was about those who care for us.  We learned the story of the Good Shepherd and his 100 sheep.   The students thanked God for those who care for them.  Monday our Thankful bags are due.

Show and Tell was a great success.  The students brought in terrific things to share.  We met animals and robots that moved, an arm cast, pictures of sisters and princesses.  The children used good listening skills and super verbal skills during Circletime.  We have been learning about the Pilgrims and Native Americans.  Each day we review the story and add another part to it.  We studied the world map and learned the direction the Mayflower took on its long journey.  We are using our sense of sight to play memory math games as we master our numbers.

We began our chart of 100 things we are thankful for. The list will go on for the month of November.  We are learning our senses in Science.  We discussed some things we can see but not touch like the sun and the moon.  We read a book about how some animals see differently than we do and we played a memory game to test our sense of sight.

We were busy today, getting the hallway ready for Thanksgiving.  Our fingerpainted turkeys were finished off with feathers that we painted with marbles.  They are awesome.  We each completed a Thanksgiving pattern created with hats, turkeys, leaves and pumpkins.   We added a new part to our circletime today.  Each day the calendar person will be in charge of the morning message.  They will help write it and read it to the class.  Then they get to take it home that day.    Watch for the messages in your child's bookbag.

We had fun visiting the BookFair today.  Be sure to check your child's bookbag for his/her wishlist.  You can pickup the books when you come for conferences on Wednesday or Thursday.  The selection is awesome.
We have been using the smartboard to practice number formation.  Wow, we are good.  Our new mystery letter arrived yesterday.  The letter Tt is an easy letter to make on our geo boards.  Our turkeys were fingerpainted and we will add the feathers on Friday.
