Problems or Concerns
Please note that if parents have any questions, problems or concerns about anything regarding their child, we ask that the parent call to make an appointment with the child's teacher. Oftentimes minor misunderstandings can escalate into major issues due to the fact that teachers are unaware of certain situations. It is important to have an open line of communication between parent and teacher.

Procedure for Borrowing Lunch Money
Please be advised that if a student needs to borrow lunch money, a note will be sent home with a copy of the lunch card and the amount of money owed to school. No student will be permitted to borrow lunch money unless any prior lunch card bills have been paid. This policy will be strictly enforced due to the enormous amount of money that was owed to the school last year. In order to pay our bills for food and keep our lunch program running, we must have all debts repaid to us.

South Philly Super Stars Ace Reading Olympics!
Congratulations to the South Philly Super Stars, a team of 13 seventh and eighth graders from Holy Spirit School, who participated in the 2012 Reading Olympics, a celebration of reading. The goals of the Reading Olympics are to promote the enjoyment of reading and the importance of teamwork in an atmosphere of friendly competition. The students sold used books at lunch and during the Christmas bazaar to earn money to purchase the 15 required books. They read the books and practiced answering questions. On Tuesday, May 1, the Holy Spirit team of students who read the most books went to Temple University to participate in the Reading Olympics competition. They earned a first place blue ribbon and certificate and brought back additional donated books to supplement the classroom library. We are very proud of their accomplishment!!
