HOW IMPORTANT IS HOMEWORK AND HOW MUCH WILL BE ASSIGNED?
Homework will be assigned every week, Monday through Thursday.
Students will copy down their homework for the entire week in
their planners on Monday and, if they for some reason do not have
their homework assigment, they can access their assignments at
home through this website! Homework will not be excessive, but it
will be checked every day and it will count for 10% of each
student's final grade.
WHEN WILL WE HAVE TESTS/QUIZZES AND WILL WE EVER HAVE A POP QUIZ?
In my class, you will never have a pop quiz! You will always have
ample time to prepare! In ILA, you will have a quiz, whether it
be spelling or vocabulary every single Friday. We will complete
in class work, submit homework and play review games the week of
the quiz. If a major test or quiz (other than spelling and
vocabulary) is coming up, either in ILA or Social Studies, then I
will give at least a one week notice to the students. Any quizzes
under a 70 must be signed and returned the day after it is
returned. A test under a 75 must also be signed and returned.
WHAT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO MY CHILD IF THEY NEED EXTRA HELP?
All students are welcome to come to me for extra help both before
school and after school. I am in school by 7:30 am and I stay
after school until at least 3:30 pm. Students must, however, set
up an appointment with me, so that I can prepare to either come
in earlier or stay later. This will help me be prepared for the
out of class lesson, and it will keep our lives much more
organized!
PLEASE NOTE: Students may not come to me for help on an
assignment if they have not already attempted it on their own.
Also, they must not come to me on the day an assignment is due.
Students are also welcome to join the Homework Club which meets
every day after school, Monday through Thursday!
