Announcements

Third is working on the following:
Religion-Third grade is working with the Sacraments of Healing, which includes Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick. These Sacraments celebrate the gift of God's love and forgiveness.
We have been reading Gospel stories about Jesus forgiving people's sins and healing their illnesses.

Math-We continue working with multiplication and have made flashcards up to and including the seven times table, which are studied each night. Students are learning to make up their own word problems for both one and two step word problems.
We recently completed our m&m bar graph project which was lots of fun. The projects are hanging in the hall.

Reading-Our anthology story, The Gardener, is both a realistic fiction/science story about a young girl living during the Great Depression, and how she and her family survived during difficult times.
In grammar our class is using our Voyages in English books to improve our knowledge of the different kinds of adjectives, and make sure to use adjectives in our writing.
Spelling words this week are contractions.

Science-Earthquakes, volcanoes, glaciers, and landforms have been our recent focus in third grade. United Streaming video clips have helped us to get a real life perspective on these exciting  parts of nature.

Social Studies-Students completed and presented projects on President John F. Kennedy and will focus on Dr. Martin Luther King and other famous people in history.
