The philosophy for middle school Physical Education class is to inspire
students to maintain an interest in their fitness and physical well-being
throughout their life. Each student should be aware of the importance of
maintaining an active lifestyle, that being active at any level can enhance
the quality of his/her health, and that participation in recreational
activities is more important than the mastery of a sport. Students who are
interested in pursuing participation in competitive sports are encouraged
and supported to do so. However, Physical Education class offers the
opportunity for all students to succeed and reach their full potential, and
develop a good self image by providing a welcoming, positive and safe
environment.
