What days are gym?

Our special schedule is as follows:
Day 1: N/A Day 2: Music Day 3: Art
Day 4: Gym Day 5: Study Island Day 6: Library

What are No Excuse words?

No Excuse words are high frequency words that students use 75% of 
the time in their writing. Once students have learned each word
they are held accountable for always spelling them correctly. For a

How do I contact Mrs. A?

Mrs. A can be contacted via a note, email, or a phone call.  To 
leave a message on voice mail, dial 255-2730. Your message will be
answered as soon
as possible.

Why does my child need to use a homework planner?

The homework planner teaches your child to be organized and 
responsible. Each day, students are expected to write down all
their assignments from the chalkboard before recess. Please check
the completed assignments each night and sign the assignment book.

Can I send in treats for my child's birthday?

Edible birthday treats should not be sent in.  Pencils or stickers 
can be substituted in place of treats. A book can be donated to the
class library in honor of your child. You can also be a surprise
reader. Let me know if you're interested.

When is the Terra Nova test?

The Terra Nova test will be administered in March 2011.  Please
schedule vacations around these days.

What is Flex Time?

Flex time is a 30 minute block used for variety of things: 
differentiated instruction for math and reading RTI, progress
monitoring, read alouds, project work and enrichment activities.
