Curriculum Overview

Math Curriculum (K-6):   Scott Foresman Addison Wesley, 2005 Edition   
The major components of this program consist of the following:  Leveled 
Practice, Connections to Other Subjects, Integrated Use of Data, Daily 
Writing in Math, Technology, Math Games, Manipulatives Kit, Test Prep, 
Problem Solving, and an Online Student Edition Textbook. 

Science Curriculum (1-6):  Scott Foresman, 2006 Edition 
This program is built on three levels of inquiry.  All three levels engage 
students in activities that build a strong science foundation and help them 
develop a full understanding of the inquiry process.  Students conduct many 
labs and take the lead in conducting experiments.  Students also complete 
science notebooks with each hands-on lab experiment.

Language Arts (K-6):   Scott Foresman, Reading Street, 2007 Edition 
Reading Street is the first program tailored specifically to the 
requirements of Reading First, a nationwide mandate to enable all students 
to become successful early readers as created by the No Child Left Behind 
Act (NCLB) signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2002. Some of the 
components include: Leveled Readers, Word Building Boards, Retelling Cards, 
Reader's Theatre Anthology, Phonics Songs & Activity CD'S, Technology,and 
an assortment of assessment tools.

Social Studies (1-6):   Harcourt Horizons, 2005 Edition 
This program consists of the following components:  Time for Kids Readers 
Collection, Field Trip Videos, Desk Atlas, Vocabulary Cards, 
Interactive Atlas, and Hands-on Activities with Bag Ladies. 

Strategies For Writers (K-6): Zaner-Bloser Strategies For Writers, 2008 
Edition   
The major components of this program consist of the following:  Rubric 
based instruction, 5 stages of the writing process, 4 modes of writing 
assessed on the PSSA, Correlated to the PA writing standards, Intergrates 
writing across the curriculum, Examples of students writing and scoring 
analysis, and a chapter to improve high stakes test results.

Study Island & Educational City :online web based educational tools used to enhance state assessments.

Study Island testing: Pa. Benchmark Assessment tests will be given four times a year.
