GENERAL INFO: You can find my homework assignments posted here daily by
approximately 4:30.
All students should be recording daily homework in their SES Agenda Books as
well. It is a learning experience for students to record daily homework and
organize all necessary books and materials to take home at the end of each
day. Teachers guide students in this process and slowly release the
responsibility to the student.
_____
READING NOTE: When answering questions after reading a passage or story...
Use these Strategies:
Read the Story
Read each Question - one at a time.
Go back to the story to find the answer to the Question.
Underline the answers you find in the story/passage and write the number of
the Question next to the answer you underline.
Color the Questions Red, Yellow, or Green.

Green: Go to the story, the answer is right there!
Yellow: Slow down, look for 'clues' in the story to answer the question.
Red: Stop! Think! Use your knowledge along with what you have read to answer
the question. The answer is NOT in the passage - you usually have to come to
a conclusion based on the passage and what you already know.
____
SPELLING NOTE: Districtwide, all students are required to study the first 15
spelling words. To receive the highest score ('4') students must also study
and spell the 5 Challenge words on the list. They are allowed a minimum of
errors, even for the score of 4 - but they must attempt the Challenge Words
for the 4. The Einstein Award Word is for my class only - students will be
given an Einstein Award if they spell this word correctly!

_____
MATH NOTE: Rocket Math is a Daily Practice Activity!
The goal of this new program is to increase your child's math fluency
so that he/she will automatically recall basic facts in
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
