Homework for each class that I teach is written on the board each day that
it is assigned. I will make every effort to also post daily assignments on
this website. It is not likely that there will be homework in my subjects
every day.
In every subject, tests or alternative assessments are assigned after each
chapter.
Study Guides (workbooks) for 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies are collected
and graded once each trimester. Due dates will be given well in advance.
As has been my custom in the past, students may do extra credit work any
time during the trimester. It is strictly optional. Students can earn
anywhere from one to ten points per assignment. Extra credit work must be
submitted at least one week before the end of the marking period. I will
give detailed instructions soon after the start of school.
8th Grade Reading
Students in my reading classes will be assigned one book report per month. I
will choose the genre every other month. In alternate months, genre will be
student's choice. I will provide students with a specific form for reporting
in months when I choose the genre. I will also provide suggestions for
various types of book reports when they choose the genre.
"Show Me" date for biography book report is this Monday, Sept. 28. "Show Me"
date is the day I would like students to show me the book they have chosen.
99% of the time I will approve the book. Book Report is due on October 26.
8th Grade Social Studies
Students have been assigned a project based on the classic novel, "Uncle
Tom's Cabin". They have been given detailed instructions. Project is due
Novemeber 23.
